The case involving the death of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony has impacted the lives of people around the globe – especially Zenaida Gonzalez.
The mother of Caylee, Casey Anthony, claimed that her daughter had been kidnapped by babysitter, Zenaida Gonzalez, though her lawyers eventually later admitted that the accused person did not exist. Unfortunately, there is a woman who goes by that name, and has filed a lawsuit against Anthony stating that due to her actions, Gonzalez’ life has been turned completely upside down.
Now after having been in hiding for 10 months – also after being trampled on by Cindy Camp who supposedly helped keep the woman in the arms of safety – investigators have located and waited Anthony out in order to serve her her papers. Gonzalez’ attorney told People Magazine on Monday,
“Their backs were against the wall, so her attorneys said that they would accept service on her behalf.” says Matt Morgan.
Anthony is now expected to appear in court on the 2nd of January in Orlando, where she may have to take the stand in her defense.
“Ms. Gonzalez is happy to hear that Casey Anthony finally will be held accountable just like everybody else.” Morgan told People.
Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter. Since then, she has received a countless number of death threats and so her attorney has asked that she not be forced to appear in court.
In an unrelated matter, Anthony has been serving one year probation for a fraud charge, and originally planned to leave the country once her term was complete. The case brought forth by Gonzalez now requires Anthony to remain within the United States.
