In Miami, Florida, on Saturday afternoon at around 2pm, two men (who were both naked, reasoning as to why is still unclear) fought viciously on an off-ramp by Biscayne Boulevard. Witnesses passing by called 911, flagged down police and attempted to verbally stop the fight. Unfortunately, the aggressor did not comply with police and was shot 12 times until his inevitable death.
The victim is currently being hospitalized in critical condition after losing 75% of his face from the aggressor, who ripped and chewed off the man’s flesh – nose, ears and eyelids – and attempted to gouge out his victim’s eyes.
Witness, Larry Vega, told a local TV Station that while driving by the horrific scene on his bicycle,
“I told him to get off, and the guy just kept eating the other guy away.”
Vega said he found a police officer, who approached and told the attacker to get off the man and drew his gun.
“The guy just stood, his head up like that, with pieces of flesh in his mouth,” Vega said. “And he growled.”
The unnamed officer shot the man, though despite his injures, continued to bite at his ‘prey’. The officer proceeded to shoot several times until the attacker died.
A local Miami station, WPLG-ABC, has now identified the attacker as 31-year-old, homeless Rudy Eugene. His now ex-wife divorced him in 2007 during a violent point in their relationship.
“I wouldn’t say he had mental problems, but he always felt like people was against him type of attitude. No one was for him, everyone was against him,” Eugene’s ex-wife spoke to local stations of her ex-husband.
The body of Rudy Eugene is currently undergoing an autopsy by investigators, but doctors feel a possible cause for such a brutal attack may be due to the intact of a new street drug called “bath salts”. The drug leaves users feeling overheated, aggressive (with increased strength) and even delirious, posing a serious threat to mainly everyone. Dr. Paul Adams, an emergency room doctor at Jackson Memorial Hospital, claims that he has seen similar behavior in other “bath salt” users.
Although there are photographs and a surveillance footage of the crime available, I will not be posting it due to its’ graphic nature.
