If you haven’t done so already, please read my previous article about Luka Rocco Magnotta, to get you up to speed on the situation.
Update! 1pm: Autopsy reports confirms that victim was Lin Jun, a 33-year-old Concordia University student from China. Police believe that Magnotta and Lin Jun knew one another.
Luka Rocco Magnotta wrote a blog on “How to completely disappear and never be found”, offering advice on a six-step procedure which would take approximately take 4 months to complete – the same amount of time Magnotta lived in Apt. 208 in an apartment block in Cote des Neiges. Although the “guide-lines” written by Magnotta do not leave indication as to where he will ultimately reside in his new life, police had been informed Thursday that he had purchased a plane ticket to Paris, France, under a fake name. Authorities have now begun conducting a search in France, but according to Magnotta’s advice, rather then taking a plane which would leave a paper trail, the “escapee” should drive out of town to another province, where [you] would then sell [your] car using a fake identity and board a bus with a briefcase full of cash.
A woman reported to the media that she and her son offered a lift to a hitchhiker, Magnotta, and drove him out of Montreal last week to the Ontario border.
In March of 2012, the most recent blog entry Magnotta had made [which has since been removed], describes his sexual attraction to dead bodies, entitled Necrophilia Serial Killer Luka Magnotta.
“It’s not cool to the world being a necrophiliac. … I don’t see myself as some creepy pervert. I’m just somebody who has feelings, real feelings, for dead men.”
Authorities are still awaiting results from the victim’s autopsy, though it is led to believe that he is a 33-year-old Chinese immigrant from Wuhan province, who arrived in Montreal last July as a student. The Chinese Consulate in Montreal and Montreal Officials are working side by side in attempts to identify the man and inform his family in China.
Despite Magnotta’s note of warning, which officials think of as “ramblings of a mad man”, police officers believe that the two limbs they have received are all that was sent, though they did find several other parts [location unknown].
“We’re confidant there were just two shipments and we’ve got them both.”
The footage of Magnotta slaying his victim has since been removed on the U.S-based website, though the site in Alberta refuses to do the same.
“The website owner says (the video) will stay up forever.”
Claims from the site have said that they were the first with access to the video, giving a forewarning to police, and is doing everyone justice by leaving it as it is. Though not all viewers could say the same, advising future viewers not to watch. The mattress and couch, where one of Montreal’s most gruesome murders took place, were set to the street as trash, later being picked up by a garbage truck.
“We don’t need that,” Ian Lafreniere – Montreal’s police Commander – said, “We have a video of the killing. We have body parts and we have blood.”
“We have enough.”
A woman from Toronto has recently stepped forward, claiming that she and Magnotta dated in 2006 while he was a dancer. According to the ex, he was cold, uninterested in intimacy and obsessed with serial killers – especially Karla Homolka (she served 12 years for her role in the rape and murder of two teenage girls, along with Paul Bernardo), who dated the 29-year-old. The Scientologist also reportedly lived in Los Angeles with Timothy Boham – a fellow porn star who murdered 43-year-old John Paul Kelso in 2006 and is now serving a life sentence in Colorado. Magnotta was also accused of stealing $17, 000 from a woman and sexually assaulting her, although the sex charge was later dropped.
